Updated news items get moved to the top? I seldom look all the way down the page, and there are often pertinant updates.

Also, it would be nice if a site admin, or mod would reply to emails I've send regarding threads of mine being deleted. No need to start replying to the old ones now, as that's old history, but in the future.

Try PMing jsw or Doctor Q next time that happens. Emailing webmaster@macrumors.com will never get you a response.

I do agree with the primary comment. If a front-page article has moved down the page a bit and gets updated, it often takes me a little while to notice it. I know that "Updated" or "Updated x2" gets added to the article headline and "Update" appears in bold, but I don't usually scroll down the main page. So if the new lead article is fairly long, I often don't even see the second article on the page and thus miss that it's been updated.
