I just had what I think is a great idea for an iPhone app: when I'm at home, I don't need my iPhone to check my email, I have my computer on all the time, and Mail is constantly open (as I'm sure is the case with many of you).

Now I use gmail IMAP for all of my accounts (I have Google for Domain), and as some of you may have noticed, Mail and Mail for iPhone sometimes exhibit conflicts - they don't update correctly all the time, marking all the necessary messages read, and such.

Now, my iPhone knows when I'm at home, because it connects via my home network - so how about an app that, when connected to a specific access point, turns off automatic mail checking?

I can't code (for Mac/iPhone, anyway) but I thought that maybe if I expressed this idea here, someone else might agree and actually want it enough to make it. But generally, I'd just like to see what you guys think of it.
