I've been wanting to migrate my photos out of Amazon Cloud for awhile and buying a M1 Mac Mini seems to be as good a time as any. I will house the library in the Photos app and looking for a solution to have the entire library available to my family outside the home on various iOS devices. iCloud is not an option as the library exceeds 2TB. There doesn't seem to be any clear Apple solution other than iCloud so it seems I'm looking at Plex, Emby, OwnCloud, NextCloud. There seems to be some Google Photos inspired self hosted options like LibrePhotos, Photonix, and Photoprism but they don't respect the Photos library I believe. I self-host other stuff on Linux machines so pretty familiar with command line so any suggestions as nerdy as they get will work.

For ease of use for everyone else I'd prefer to have an app to browse the images with but it looks like that's not an option for the last 3. It seems NextCloud is probably the best option but hope someone has a new idea or at least confirmation the NextCloud works well.

Then I also just found Mylio which is more or less what I want, but it's $100/yr pricing is crazy for something I host myself.

I'm also debating going the easy route with Smugmug but that's lazy :)
