Suggestion for webcam recording software

Hi there,

I don't have iLife '08 or this would have been easy.

I just bought a webcam, and would like to test it by recording some video from it to see how it looks and sounds.

Does anybody have a suggestion for an application that works in 10.5 that would let me try this? I bought the Logitech QuickCam UltraVision SE for my Mini.

I see video in iChat's preferences section as well as Photo Booth, but I'd like to record 10 seconds of speech and motion for testing.

Any suggestions?

Side note: I am not buying iLife '08 since it should come with whatever Mac I buy when I finally upgrade.

iMovie HD from iLife '06 doesn't see the webcam. I got the feeling from the iLife '08 site and tutorials that webcam usage was new to '08.

And so you can. Thanks! It didn't work really well, lagging pretty hard, but it did indeed record video.

On a side note, is it possible to record incoming video from either iChat or Adium with the built in video chat plug-in? My friend is moving to Thailand for a year and I would like to be able to save our conversations and watch them again. Thanks.
