Hey,

I'm going into a science major, and I'll be carrying the laptop to all my classes to take notes (and of course use it to not pay attention to whats actually happening). I'll also use it as my main computer at home.

I won't be doing alot (if any) gaming on it. I'll use photoshop occasionally (not for real work, just for fun).

I'd still like it to be fast, and able to last about 4 years for me, and to have a decent battery life.

Which should I get? MB? MBA? MBP?

Thanks a lot

You may need the MBP's dedicated graphics if you're going into science. Maybe check with the science department to see if you'll need that power. Otherwise, go for the MacBook.

If you're a science major, you won't be taking notes on a computer. Too many sketches, symbols and equations for straightforward typing.

You'll want some good mechanical pencils and notebooks.

i would say get a macbook, but your bookstore may have good deals on pros. I know mine had 17" macbook pros with applecare for $1700.

100% MacBook.
No doubt about it.

Your a science major anyways,
you should invest in a badass pencil. :p

Sense it's your only computer, MBA wouldn't be a wise decision,
and unless your just rolling in cash, I wouldn't pick up the pro either.

If you only plan on using Photoshop every once in a while as a hobby then go with the macbook. I agree that you should check with your program to see if they recommend having better graphics, in that case go with the mbp.
