Hey everyone,
well i'm interested in lighting design, but dont have a clue on what programs/apps would be good for this kind of stuff. Any suggestions?

I use Vectorworks 11.5 everyday, spotlight is a wonderful thing. Also LightWright 4 will be you best friend. Both programs import/export instrument data to one another seemlessly. If you don't have it already, excel is quite useful also, for cuelists, etc. I have also been dabbling with a program called virtual magicsheet, it is pretty slick, I still make most of mine myself, but this software allows DMX integration as an input, which I have found very useful at several union houses where you have to be fully hands off, as it is a better graphical representation of what is going on cue to cue than a typical designer remote. Good luck, it is nice to see other lighting designers on here!

Lighting design software

Mac Lux Pro

Been out of the lighting design game for a few years now. When I left OS X was just coming out- I used to use Mac Lux Pro- it says its sort of compatiable with os X on the web site- I was moving to vector works. Anyone still using Mac lux pro?
