Good Day All,

I am working as a Database Administrator for a small company.

I have one of those jobs where I need to be on 'Stand By' all of the time.

My boss offered me the opportunity to have the company purchase me a Macbook Pro.

I will be using it as a 'Desktop Replacement' at work as well as a computer I will be taking home at the end of the day.

My boss has asked me to send him some specs of what I would like the laptop to have in order for him to place the order.

Here are a few applications I use on a daily basis.

- Microsoft SQL Server Studio 2005
- Microsoft Office 2007
- Windows XP Professional

Can you offer me any laptop specs I need to have to be able to run in a virtual windows environment.

Both my Director and Assistant Director are using VMWare and have purchased additional license that I will be able to use.

Any assistance you could provide on Hard Drive Space, RAM, Processor Speed etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

MS SQL DBA USING A MACBOOK PRO!!! :D

Any apple laptop would suffice for that stuff. Just upgrade off newegg the RAM to 4-8GB. I have 4GB and it runs fine with windows. You dont need much for that stuff. Most important at this point is screen resolution, and size, since tech specks all suffice.
