suggestions for dock?

i currently have a 1st gen iphone that comes with a dock. i keep it near my computer for charging/synching. i'll most likely upgrade to a 3g iphone around the holidays. since it doesn't come with a dock i'm looking for options. ideally i'd like two (one by my desk, another plugged into my stereo).
A) apple's option. $60 for 2
B) some ebay option. anyone had any experience with them?

i'd like the dock to hold both generations of iphone as well as my 5g 60gb ipod.

Take the iPhone dock you have, use a Dremel, and five minutes later your dock will work with the 3G.

If you want to to work for all 3 devices, then the universal dock with different adapters is what you will need.

i remember that when the 3g first came out. don't want to do that because i'll probably sell the 1st gen iphone and would prefer to sell it with a good dock.

but i don't want two ipods/iphones charging or on the same dock. one dock for my computer desk, the other for my stereo. two different locations.

looks like i'll just have to go with the standard dock with universal adapters.
