Currently, I use a Late 2012 Mac Mini i7 Quad-Core with 16gb ram and a Samsung 840 PRO SSD as a boot drive. My FCPX is installed on that drive to make it run fast. I use a G Technology EV G-Dock thunderbolt connection to for editing. I now want to upgrade my laptop and want a MBA specifically for portability. I have a total of 6 (1 TB drives) that can use on the go injunction with the G-Dock, though when I do take the standalone drives on the go, they are connected via USB3.0 connection. Please give me configuration options for a 13 inch model of what's best to run FCPX with and not have the laptop bottleneck or lag when watching the videos during edits. Other than using this laptop for editing my youtube videos, I will be using it for post-graduate work.
