Suggestions for used, working Time Capsule?

I have an older generation (early 2009, which I think is 2nd gen but I'm really not sure) 1TB TC that I replaced today with a 2TB 4th-generation unit.

I'm torn between unloading it on eBay (where it might fetch $50 if I'm lucky) or sticking it in a closet should the day ever arise when the 2TB bites it and I need a quick backup network.

Any thoughts on this, or other ways it could be given a useful 2nd life?

I should add that my house is small enough that I wouldn't benefit from having any device extend the existent wireless network.
