I will be camping out at a VZW store that will be opening early at 8am on release day. The salesguy advised me to be there at 6am but now im thinking maybe get there around 10pm the day before?

Do people just put chairs in line and sit? I wanted to park in front of the store and wait for security reasons but now im not sure. My BF said he will come with me but i dont believe him...

I could take my dog but she's a small pomeranian and cant protect me. It's a somewhat sketchy area so im a bit wary. :(

If you're in front of an Apple Store, it is generally recommended to go there at around 10PM. HOWEVER, if you're in front of a VZW, I think 4AM-5AM is sufficient. Waiting in the car with a view of the Verizon store is also a good thing to do, just don't fall asleep, others could show up pushing you further back in line. As soon as one person shows up, get out of the car and wait in line.

Do you have an Apple store near you? They're generally very brightly lit.

Generally, people do put chairs there and sit. You can either do one of two things: have your BF wait with you until a couple people show up then he can leave OR park the car outside of VZW and wait until someone shows up in line.

There was a long line already for me when I camped for the 4 in 2010. got there at 9pm

Never again

Take a bucket as a personal porta potty, lots of water, some snacks, a blankie, some red bull and you should be good to go.

True. The Apple stores in GA are inside malls though not sure how that would work. Yes i might have to make BF wait till ppl show up good ideas thanks.

Poop before you head out. You won't be able to leave the line to poop.

LOL :p

You would have to park outside the mall or line up outside. At whatever time they open early (mall walkers), I suppose you can line up outside the store inside.

I would have to agree and say this is probably your best bet. Unless you have another friend who would be willing to wait with you so you would have someone to talk to after your boyfriend leaves and they could stay with you.

I was considering this but we dont have a tent.

The weather late Thursday and into Friday is supposed to be pretty nice in the ATL area. I wouldn't bother with a tent. Chair and a cooler should help mark your territory.

As far as security, don't bring valuables. If you can't legally carry a means to defend yourself, you'll have to rely on strength in numbers. With like-minded, cooperative people around, it's unlikely that there'd be trouble.

Very good idea. I could also borrow a friend's German Shepherd.

I'd loan you my 95-pound male German Shepherd, but we're about 480 some odd miles northeast from you. ;) He looks fierce, but he's a sweety.

I'm an Atlanta native (there aren't many of us around here anymore). :) What area are we talking about? If your store is in a mall, call the management office to see what their provisions are for the situation.

Your Pommie looks like a toy for the Shepherds. :D

Get there at least a day or two ahead of the launch. Reason is that this launch will be big and supply will be limited.
