Suggestions when I get the new iMac

I have a mid-2007 24" iMac, I'm going to get the 27" iMac when they are released. Should I do a time machine restore to the new iMac?

Is there a way to just pull my mail files over?
 
The first thing you should do after you unbox your new iMac is use it to post an epic rant on this forum :D

When you first turn on your computer and it takes you through the short walkthrough, it gives you options concerning where you are pulling files from. You can either do it right then, or later on.

Aren't your mail files hooked up to the accounts attached to Mail, anyway?

yeah, i know how to pull from time machine, i've done it when i had the hdd replaced, just wondering if i should. if i don't want to know if i can just pull the mail files.

yeah, the email is attached to accounts but i have like 200 folders where i store different emails
