SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices" has been modified and will not be ... ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

thats the message i get the last month when i repair disk permissions

Fixed in the developer builds of 10.9.2, so when that update comes out, it should disappear. In the meantime, ignore it.

In general disk utility has more "access" when running on a drive it's not also booted from. One option may be to restart with command R and run disk utility from the emergency partition. This also turns on the repair disk option, for the same reason.
