sometime a large avi file or m4v file will play well and sometimes small files will be very stuttery.

I notice in the qt properties that there are 'bitrates' and fps and other data. I assume it is these settings that determine whether a file will play well or not.

So my question is simply for late model g5 imac with an x600 radeon with 64mb vram and 2.5GB RAM, what sort of specs for an avi file or m4V file should I be looking for to know that my mac will handle it well.

Thx
