I was just thinking about ideas for stuff I'd like for Christmas... yeah the dreaded C-word already, sorry.
I have got the computer in my sig with some M-audio studiophile Av40s hooked up to it and have read in several places over the web, most notably youtube that an external sound card would improve the sound hugely.
I am very much into decent sound and encode my music at AAC 256kbps vbr or 320kbps MP3 and haven't had these speakers for long. If there was an opportunity to improve the sound yet again I would jump at it.
I don't know a lot about sound cards I'll admit but I'm interested in the idea of getting one. Preferably it would be available to buy off Amazon UK or Play.com and not *too* expensive.
Does anyone have any knowledge that might help me at all please? Sorry to ramble on...
I have got a USB 'soundcard' in the picture below which I got years ago but I'm not sure it does what I intend...
