Suitable Monitor for Mac Pro Tower

i got Mac Pro Tower from one of my client's office which was being disposed. But there is no monitor with the tower. Is there alternative brand of monitor that is compatible with Mac Pro Tower and what specs should i be looking for while buying a monitor for Mac Pro Tower?

Pretty much any monitor under $1,000 is going to work, except Apple's own 27" Thunderbolt display, and perhaps their 24" and 27" Mini Display Port ones if this Mac Pro has an Apple graphics card made before 2009, or a non-Apple graphics card.

The connector on the left is DVI, the one on the right is Mini DisplayPort. Older Mac Pros just had DVI.

It's easy to find monitors with DVI, but post a budget or any model you find and we can give you advice on it.
