Now that summer is approaching I'm faced with the same old problem of not being able to both enjoy the beautiful weather and use the computer simultaneously, as the screen tends to be practically unreadable in a sunlit environment. But now that devices like the Kindle are equipped with screens that, if I understand it correctly (...?), are readable in direct sunlight I'm thinking it may for once be possible to take the computer outside.

So my question is, do you guys know of any external display available that I could connect to my computer through VGA/DVI/Display-Port/whatever, that are readable outside in the bright sunlight? As I'm mostly concerned with learning stuff like Java-programming at the moment it shouldn't be a major problem if the display is grayscale.
