Super 8. SPOILERS

Could someone who liked Super 8 please tell me why? This movie is getting rave reviews, an A from EW, and I thought it was simply horrible. All this secret hype over what the movie is really about and what did we get: a monster movie? Whoopee doo. Big bad alien wants to go home and the bad army men want to stop him. Jeeze.....

I'm not too in touch with the media so I didn't hear about the hype, but yea, it was decent. The kids were funny. The ending sucked. Looked cool! I wouldn't pay to watch it again. I everything was well put together, but the story needed something else, I don't know what, but something.

The movie captured something special that I can't explain. It's more than a scifi monster movie.

More an updated ET in my opinion. And I hated ET.

It does have plenty of JJ Abrams lens flares, should be a drinking game for his movies.
