S Stamp macrumors newbie Original poster Nov 13, 2005 2 0 Oxford. UK Nov 13, 2005 #1 When I eject on my G5, the tray hits the case and wont eject. I have to force it down to pop out. Is this a common fault or do I need a new drive?

Will Cheyney macrumors 6502a Jul 13, 2005 701 0 United Kingdom Nov 13, 2005 #2 I imagine the spring mechanism has just come un-hooked somehow. You should be able to take the side off of the G5 and work out how to put it back on. If not, take it to your local Apple Store/dealer.
