Long story short I work at Cash Generator and we sold an iPhone 3GS without realizing it had a password. We sold it, customer returned it and I'm stuck removing the password for him to collect it tomorrow.

I've got it in recovery mode and I'm stuck in the 1015 recovery loop. Any quick and simple fixes or this?

I don't know if the iPhone was jailbroken or not as it had a passcode.

Enter DFU mode (google it) and then click restore in iTunes.

EDIT: I think if you restore it and it is still in a recovery loop, you can download tiny umbrella and kick it out of recovery.

Tried DFU Mode

Can you explain this TinyUmberella for me please?

I think it's 4.1.2? The latest for 3GS

4.1.2 is the latest for a 3G, the 3GS can get up to 6.1.3

TinyUmbrella is a tool that can save the SHSH (ability to downgrade/upgrade firmwares). Also can kick an iPhone out of recovery.
