super slow internet - only on the macbook...

ok, my internet is f*cked up. it is super slow and intermintent.
called cable company - comcast - and they brought out new equiptment.
cable guys laptop got 10k+ download (numbers from speakeasy.net btw) and my macbook only gets 2500 download and even slower upload speeds. same router and modem.

i tried the change the "configure" stuff under the "airport" settings.
download speeds remain unchanged.

what else should i try?

btw i can barely find porn online so any dumbing-down of answers would be appreciated...
