After thinking on this for awhile I will be going the CCD route - only one artifact to deal with vs three. My filming will involve far more motion than it will high contrast bright lights - thus CCD.

This is a 180 degree shift for me. My Canon dslr uses CMOS so I naturally thought that was best given the stellar still images.

But - those still images are via a "frame or global" shutter - and the shutters on CMOS based camcorders are all of rolling or sequential design. That = the skew and wobble and partial exposure issues.
