Yeah that's what I read too, but was wondering if someone knew some way to get rid of it. It's a shame that they're doing this sort of thing.
If you have AT&T you can go to this link on your phone http://205.234.28.93/mobileoptout/ and opt out. You must disconnect from your wifi and connect to AT&T's network to do it.

I think the opt out is just opting out of targeted advertisement not necessarily opting out of the tracking unique identifier in the request headers.
