Superdrive error when burning Dual Layer

When i try to burn dual layer disc in Toast i get the following error message

The drive reported an erro:
Sense key = Medium Error
Sense Code = 0X73 0X03

I also get error when i try to burn backup images of my Xbox360 games in OsX360 or Iburn360

Does this sound like a hardware issue and do i have to contact apple about it.

I am on a Macbook pro 15inch 2.9mhz and 4 gig of ram.

Probably the media.

You need only the highest quality media when working with DL. Always burn at the slowest speed possible too.

I am using Verbatim DVD+R DL, and they are suppose to be good.
