Been searching the forum trying to find if anybody has replaced the drive in their Superdrive for MacBook Air enclosure...

Would it be possible to fit a drive out of a MacBook or MacBook Pro? If so what one?

Thanks in advance :)

I believe that the MacBook Air Superdrive uses a 9.5mm PATA drive. So, any MacBook/MacBook Pro Superdrive from the early 2008 laptops and before should work. Although I could be mistaken. I did a bit of searching and could only find information from around 2008, when the original MacBook Air came out.

This website shows a hack to make the MacBook Air Superdrive work for any computer and they use a PATA adapter inside it.
