Hello,
I have faced a problem with a SuperDrive on my MacBook Pro 17 2.33. When I insert a CD or DVD it doesn't mount it, and I don't hear a sound of a disc being read, just something rotating inside. Disc Utility doesn't see the drive anymore, there is only a hard drive volume. But the System profiler actually does
MATSHITADVD-R UJ-85J:
Model: MATSHITADVD-R UJ-85J
Revision: FAV1
Serial Number:
Detachable Drive: No
Protocol: ATAPI
Unit Number: 0
Socket Type: Internal
Low Power Polling: Yes
I haven't used the drive and the Disc utility for a while so I don't know when this problem appeared, but the last thing I did was mounting a disc image into a Disc util's volumes column. Could this have somehow affected the drive, or the problem is with hardware (there still is a warranty)?
Thank you in advance
