superdrive on mbp bootable?

this is new to me, but the macbook air superdrive is now compatible with the macbook pro.

i was wondering if i can install windows bootcamp via this drive with this method? has anybody tried this?

when i had placed an optibay, i had to reinstall my superdrive to install windows since the mac only boot from internal drive.

From experience, the MBP will detect it in OS X and in windows within VM. It shouldn't be a problem with bootcamp.
