OK, now i have two MBP sitting here, I have notice there's a performance different between the H+L Data Storage multi-drive and my original MBP that has a Matshita SuperDrive. The later seems to be faster and quieter though both drives specs are the same. Has anyone else notice this?

Out of curiosity, what drives are installed in your machine? And how reliable is it for you, in terms of media used, coasters created?

My current (Late 2008) Macbook Pro came with the:

MATSHITADVD-R UJ-868

It is noisy when loading as slot loaders often are, but it seems to be very quiet when reading a disk or writing to a disk. I haven't seen it create any coasters unless the image I burned wasn't a good image to begin with.
