Apologies if this isn't the correct forum; I couldn't see another that would've been more appropriate, so am posting here because it's a MacBook Pro through which I'm trying to use the device. I bought the SuperDrive from Amazon, and my mistake was to leave it too long after purchasing to try it out, so that I couldn't return it. It buffers discs every few seconds, making viewing impossible, and this on discs that otherwise (I have a regular player) work perfectly. Does anyone have any tips? In olden days you might have had for instance a Head Cleaner for video players. I've googled exhaustively to no avail. Any help gratefully received, and a lesson about sources for Apple products has been well learned.

SuperDrive playback problem

I don't have a SuperDrive but maybe it needs a firmware update? The discs are in good condition? Try different playback software?
