It probably would since they both used CD drives that are of a laptop style. Only way to find out is to try.

My iMac grabs the disk about halfway in... both my current version and my older White Intel iMac.

Well I just got mac yesterday I guess I will make a call to applecare

It should fit.

My parents iMac is a 24" alu, and I have to push the disk almost all the way in, it's probably normal.

If you just got your iMac congrats. They are great, you should max your RAM from OWC (www.macsales.com) it's too cheap not to!

Crucial or OWC are your best bet for RAM.

My power book takes about 3/4 to almost the whole disk, and ejects out 1/2 the disk.
