Hey everyone,

My superdrive on my macbook pro just died. What is the best and most compatible drive I can buy to replace it? (does it have to have special dimensions?) I don't want to pay the $600 dollars Apple is asking for a new superdrive?

Thanks a lot.

that seems really high, the drive should be less than $100-$150.

A firewire external DVD burner drive would work, and cost about $100 or so.

Yeah an external drive won't do. Anyone else with suggestions?
