Superdrive to MacBook transplant or Mod?

I've been thinking about getting the Superdrive for the Air, but I only need it to do OS X reinstall (DVD read only). I have a MacBook 2.1ghz that has the Combo drive. I was thinking a drive swap between the two. I am more likely to do DVD stuff with the more powerful MB so having the SuperDrive in it seems more logical. Your thoughts?

Do you think the drive only swap will work?

Or do you think I should just do the SuperDrive mod? Has anyone done it?

did you check the measurements? i'd bet on them not being the same size, but that's just a guess.
