SuperDrive Troubles/New External Drive

Hi All,

Quick question regarding my 2007 White MacBook. I am having some troubles burning CDs. I keep getting error messages regarding either burning not completing properly or not the right kind of CDs.

I've tried different CDs and I managed to burn one CD but that took 30 mins or so.

The question/s I have are

Is it possible the Drive has had it's day?

If so, can anyone recommend a good external optical drive compatible with my MacBook?

The macbook superdrives were not very reliable. Look for another superdrive like UJ-857, UJ-857-C and GMA-?? (can't remember the numbers). Most any external drive should work fine, I would replace the internal drive and not carry around another drive.
