Support for Core Animation

Just a quick question...I know my iBook (1.2ghz) did not support core image when Tiger rolled around (i.e. I don't have the cool ripple effect with dashboard). Is their a similar cut off for core animation or is that supported on any machine that can install Leopard?

My guess is that Core Animation is a subset of Core Image and will require its support.

Hmmph...well that would SUCK...all these new apps taking advantage of it and I'm left out to dry with only a 2.5 year old computer. Ah well...such is life.

Core Image like Quartz Extreme in the past left a lot of machines behind.
