I'm running 10.5.2, all other dvd's work fine when I play them.

Just this one dvd for my teaching program gets the "supported disc not available" message, I have tried playing on my tv dvd player and it seems to work fine. (it was made on a mac..)

In disk utility, when I go to repair disk permissions, it is grayed out. :/

I have tried running handbrake to try to convert it to a different format, handbrake says, "no valid source found" when I go to select the dvd as the source.

I have also tried playing it on VLC Media Player, and here is what the error reads:

vcd: search for kIOCDMediaClass came up empty
vcd: failed to get the TOC
vcd: no movie tracks found
access_file: file /dev/rdisk1 is empty, aborting
cdda: search for kIOCDMediaClass came up empty
cdda: failed to get the TOC
cdda: no audio tracks found
main: no suitable access module for `dvdnav:///dev/rdisk1'

What's up? Bad dvd?
Thanks for any help for a newbie!

Answer

Hey, the disc is probs fine!

Same thing happens to me sometimes.

On VLC go to:

File>Open Disc>find Video TS files>click on the Video TS in the disc and press open

There you go!:apple::):):):):):):):):)
