Suppress Announce Time overnight

I have my main Mac in my bedroom. I like having it announce the time during the day but at night it wakes me up. I can manually turn it off at night but sometimes I forget.

Is there a way to have it automatically turn off the Announce Time feature overnight and then automatically come back on in the morning?

I believe this is doable, but it requires a little AppleScript and some means of firing the AppleScript on a schedule. iCal fills this second requirement nicely. However, I don't know exactly what commands need to go in the script. Not helping matters is that I'm not at a Mac

The preference pane can also be set to not chime between specific hours of the day (perfect for when you leave your Mac on at night while you sleep—you don’t need the hourly reminders).

I actually want to keep the Mac awake. It has our main iTunes library on it as well as other services. I let the screen go to sleep but the Mac stays busy doing things at night.
