I've got a headless mac mini which has a network drive mounted automatically.
I'm used to PC networking with absolute network references (i.e. no mounting requirement) and have Plex server on this mac with media (films, photos, music) on the NAS.
When the Mac starts, it mounts the NAS as a logon item - fine
When the NAS goes down (maintenance/network issues etc) the drive disappears and Mounthwatcher does a good job of reconnecting the drive.
However, I get this message:
Which, until it goes away (by clicking OK) prevents the drive from mounting again.
Plex server on PC just uses the ip address of the server (in this case 10.0.0.21), but on Mac it needs it mounted (which is something I'll never fully understand the reasoning behind).
What would people recommend as a solid solution to this that means I don't have to RDP to the headless mac to fix this as often as I currently have to?
