Is safari available as an app? If not, how useful do you think it would be to surf the web on the watch?

That's the exact opposite point of the watch. It was made for quick interactions, handing off the lengthier ones to our phones. I don't think anyone would want to browse the web on such a small screen, save for quick tidbits of info from Siri.

The point of the watch is not to be a miniature iPhone, but rather an accessory... a peripheral... an extension...

Why am I hearing myself in a Jony Ive accent?

It does not come with one built in. I think it would be an awful experience. Having had the watch since Friday i really would not want to do this on it. The watch is great for all the mini things you normally get the phone out to do over the day like checking notifications and texting.

I did try shopping via the Amazon app, and that kind of works because its be redesigned with the small screen in mind.

The thing about the watch is that you have to have an iPhone in your pocket all the time for it to be fully useful. So you need to think about whether doing a task on the watch will actually be better in any way than simply taking out your phone. For most of the apps that I've seen/tried, the answer is no. Not only is the watch not better -- it's clearly worse. You're much better off doing it on your phone. Safari is probably the clearest cut example of this. It would really suck to surf the web on the watch.

Not web browsing but I think apps may fill in the need for browsing here. Like things you would want a quick look up on (imdb/wikipedia). Full out web browsing, hell no.

You can not surf the web, watch videos, play angry birds or candy crush, or use Microsoft Office on the watch, sorry.

Guys, why is there no photoshop on the watch? Apple has really lost their mind this time :mad:

It's not fair to blame Apple over whether or not Photoshop is on the watch. I can't believe Final Cut is not available though.

You're just trying to play a ridiculous joke on the group, aren't you?

No?

OK, then. Listen up. You have no idea of what the Apple Watch is about. DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT get it. You will be very disappointed given your expectations. If you have one on order, cancel please. I beg you. If you don't you will be here every 5 minutes complaining about this and that.

So this a definite NO on safari? How about Netflix?

Guys guys. Would you rather....

- surf the web on the Watch but you have the best possible bandwidth and incredibly low ping times. Or...

- surf the web on whichever display you choose but you're stuck with dial up speeds.

Btw is there a full dedicated Office suite yet? Microsoft really dropped the ball on this, gonna take 5 years like they did for the iPad..
