I recently purchased the Airport Extreme 6th generation wireless router (replacing the 5th gen), and now I notice my Motorolla Surfboard 6120 modem is flashing an amber light rather than the blue light when connected to the 5th gen. Is anyone else seeing this? What is the cause? I still have internet access, and everything seems to be working. I have read somewhere that the amber light means slower speeds, can't confirm though. I am getting 54MBps when wired, and roughly 40MBps wireless.

reference, is this a gigabit router? What cat ethernet cable are you using?

I did swap cables, another headache because I found B/BW wires switched on my wall plate, and I am pretty sure I have a mixture of CAT5 and CAT5E in my setup. Looks like a day of rewiring until I find the right cable setup. Thanks.
