Does anybody use there iPad while laying in bed? :)

Was wondering if it's a pain to use while laying down or on your side? Do you guys use a pillow to hold it up, maybe a Smart Cover would work nice (unless it'd fall over)?

I do a great deal of iPadding in bed. Never had any issues with it. My girlfriend loves it because I don't have the MBP taking up a portion of the bed like I used to.

Actually, a girlfriend doesn't love their boyfriend iPadding in their bed.

She just hates it less than when he uses a MacBook Pro in their bed.

She loves when you pay attention to her, not to a piece of glass and plastic.

;)

It would depend on if he is surfing this site, or a porn site....:)

For it to be comfortable u need a case to prop it up. I just use my apple case.

The standard for threads in this place...moaning about using iPad in bed when they could be doing other things, like sleeping.

I usually just sit upright and lay it on my knees (with the Apple case on upright landscape)

Unless his girlfriend is a geek and she has her own iPad.

This it how you do it:

1) Legs in a sit-up position;
2) Head resting on a pillow
3) You won't be able to hear anything, as the blanket will muffle the speakers but...

Or, as other people said, act like it's a holiday and stay awake 'till 5:30 in McDonalds (Disneyland is open until 12:00, so why not - when you're actually on holiday).

and in that case, if you both are in bed on your iPads - you need to reevaluate your relationship

What about reading in bed? What about watching a movie together? Do you need to reevaluate your relationship if you do any of those things?

What is it about the iPad that makes it so much worse than all that stuff couples do together all the time? Just because people use their iPads in bed doesn't mean that's all they do.

Laptop is much better in bed. Holding up that Ipad is no fun.

I used to think that before I had an iPad, but the actual experience with iPad proved that to be completely untrue.

Most laptops get hot after a while, which makes holding them very uncomfortable. They also weigh 2x-3x of the iPad weight. iPad on the other hand stays cool, and it's light. It is very comfortable holding it against your chest while lying down.

I would never go back to a laptop.. in bed :D

Been trying to use my 13" Air for bed / couch surfing since I sold my iPad in prep of version 2 and IMHO using the iPad is WAY better than using a laptop. YMMV.

It's comfortable! Just use the Smart Cover to prop it up a little bit.. and you're set!
