My friend who sold is iPhone 3 weeks ago, but still kept his plan active and was just using a rinky dink phone had his upgrade status changed overnight..

Well he just got off the phone with AT&T and apparently, AT&T has caught on to the "loophole". The CSR rep said that their records show 2 IMEI numbers active at the same time..

He tried to tell the CSR that it was stolen and now they're going to do an investigation with the other person who did indeed activate it legitamitely through AT&T, so as of now he is still "Not Eligible" to upgrade..

If you run into a problem, don't be surprised if they ask you to see your current iPhone..

The CSR could have been running scare tactics on him, who knows??

Tomorrow is going to be interesting..

So he can't just accept that he got caught and had to be an ass to the person who bought his iPhone by getting AT&T to investigate the phone as being stolen?

Something tells me some authorities are going to be involved somewhere along the line. And whatever punishment he gets he deserves.

He should have just accepted the fact he got caught and paid the full price.
