Surprised at lag time in manufacturing

I received my new rMBP today. Not that it's a big deal, but I was surprised (even though I ordered it a full week after Yosemite release) to start it up and see it had Mavericks installed. Seems they used to switch over a bit more quickly, but maybe my recollection is off...
