I have a Powermac G5 with Leopard, and was wondering if I can use surround sound on it without having to purchase any other splitters or whatever. Is this possible?

You can use the optical audio out to send the surround sound to a stereo system that has optical audio in or a set of speakers like the Logitech Z-5500's that have an optical audio in. DVD Player does support surround sound (if you have the preference selected).
