Hi there,

I want to get an idea on what brands/types of USB 2.0 hard drives that work well with the new Airport Extreme Base Station. I am also interested in finding out if the USB 2.0 drivers are self powered/bus powered (power from AEBS)/or connected through a powered USB hub (if so what type).

This may help people like me that had a very bad experience mounting drives and also help new users in picking the right hardware.

TIA

I'm using these two:

Western Digital 250GB USB 2.0/Firewire External Hard Drive (WDXB2500JBRNN)
Seagate Technologies 250GB USB 2.0/Firewire External Hard Drive (ST3200823A-RK)

Both are self-powered and connected thru a pretty generic USB hub. I'll get the actual hub make when I'm home.

I've had no problems with either of them.
