Two days ago, I bought a pair of Apple EarPods (3.5mm jack) from Amazon.pl. When I plugged them into my phone, the audio quality was great. However, I didn’t get the same performance when I tried them on my laptop. The main reason I bought these was for the microphone, so I decided to test it. To be honest, the mic quality feels underwhelming. It’s not "terrible," but it’s definitely not clear. For instance, my phone’s internal microphone sounds much clearer than the EarPods' mic. Because of this, I suspected they might be counterfeit and did some checks. I noticed that the serial number on the outer box does not match the serial number printed on the cable. I’ve heard from many sources that these numbers must be identical. For those of you who own genuine 3.5mm EarPods, is it normal for these numbers to be different? I’m also leaving a voice recording below so you can hear the quality for yourself. What do you think? Should I return them?

They're fake and they'll fall apart in your ears. Amazon's awash with fake Apple accessories and it's not like the real thing are anything special. Return them and buy some $10 Sony's or something from a gas station.

Is this funny? I'm asking a serious question, didn't your family teach you not to joke around?

mw360's post looks reasonable. I see that your quote is in Turkish (I think) so I suspect that something has been lost in translation.

mw360'ın paylaşımı mantıklı görünüyor. Alıntınızın Türkçe olduğunu görüyorum (sanırım), bu yüzden çeviride bir şeylerin kaybolmuş olabileceğini düşünüyorum.
The point I don't understand is that the explanation above is quite clear. People come to make jokes instead of helping. Im turkish.

Which laptop? Apple has removed the “mic” input on newer models.

Check the Tech Specs. If it doesn’t include “Support for Apple iPhone headset with remote and microphone” near the “Headphone Jack” - that’s the reason for your issue; you’re still using the built-in microphone on the Mac.

Hangi dizüstü bilgisayar? Apple, yeni modellerinde "mikrofon" girişini kaldırdı.

Teknik özelliklere bakın . Eğer "Kulaklık Girişi"nin yanında "Apple iPhone kulaklığı, uzaktan kumanda ve mikrofon desteği" yazmıyorsa, sorununuzun nedeni budur; hala Mac'inizin dahili mikrofonunu kullanıyorsunuz.
I am using ASUS TUF A16 and Redmi Note 13

I didn't come to make a joke. Amazon is full of cheap fakes especially of small Apple accessories, my wife bought some and they actually did fall apart in her ears. Meanwhile I've several times bought cheap Sony earphones from convenience stores and they've been far better than even genuine Apple earbuds. For this particular product I would buy from Apple or buy something else.
