Just wondering if machines suspended in Parallels 6 affect performance in any way? Either while the program is open or closed.

Is there any performance benefit at all from shutting them down? Or is leaving them suspended OK?

I've noticed a system wide drop in performance for a short period after suspending a machine, but then it all seems to go back to running smoothly after a minute or so.

I'm running 4 machines for web testing purposes.

When you suspend it has to save the RAM image to disk. That's why there is performance lull. There is a similar lull when you start a suspended VM, but it's much faster than a cold boot. While suspended the VM consumes no resources (other than the disk space).
