macOS SVN merge code

Ok so I have 2 departments. We have a department that handles the base framework development. We will call this department X. I am department Y. We take that framework and customize it for a client. Both dept has codes in their own svn repository. So when they release a new version of the code we need to merge that into our code. Is this possible? Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks
