Swap 2018 display with 2015 one - is that ok?

Hi everyone.

I have a 2017 MBA 13" which has a broken display.

I have an older 2015 MBA 13" with a good display.

Can I swap these? Are they the same (connections, resolution, so one)? Anything I am missing before going for it?

Well if it's the 2018 Retina MBA my guess is that you won't be able to swap displays since they are different.

2015 and 2017 Airs are exactly the same computer, so the displays will be compatible.

So I did replace the displays. I did a pretty good job if you'd ask me

Problem is - the mac will turn on, everything seems to work, display backlight is on (and I can even change display brightness it seems to go to total black if I chose all the way down), but I get no display at all.

Everything works though.

Plugging it to external display works as well.

This is odd.

Why is the replacement not working?

Amu advice or thoughts on the issue?

Is the video cable properly seated?

Examine the connector on the mainboard and cable for signs of damage.

Thx for the message. Yes, everything seems totally fine. This is very weird. Can't figure this out.
