Hello

I have a macbook pro 2007 17" A1229 and i purchased A1261 logic board in fantastic price, Now the big question can i replace my a1229 logic board with a1261 logic board ?

From collecting answers i found that 70% trend that the swap will work ! that is not 100% and non of is a report that this swap actually working....

Can any one confirm a 100% success ? or give or to provide information ?

Don't spare any more parts needed for this upgrade for example "Left I/O Board" replacement,

Thank's and looking forward for answers.....

Best regards,

Hi

I'm thinking that if i also replace the "Left I/O" from A1229 to A1261 all most everything is the same except for the palmrest and the LCD screen ! i had found seller in eBay that sell the same palm rest and keyboard both for A1229 and A1261 and from compering my palm rest to the one in eBay i see that i have the same, now for the LCD screen the only comparison i have is from "powerbookmedic" that sell the LCD screen ( not the ensemble ) for A1229 and A1261
It seams that he sell the same one both for A1229 and A1261 the only thing i not sure is the LCD driver ( not software )
The electric part that drive the LCD screen !

Please give me a opinion or any insight for this.

Thank's

Best regards,
