I'm using a mid 2012 Sandy Bridge i7 MBA today with 512GB Flash Storage.

Just ordered a 2014 Ivy Bridge i7 MBA with only 256GB Flash Storage.

Can I sway them when the 2014 MBA comes in?

First, there is no 2014 mba. The one you are ordering is mba 2013.

Second, you can't swap the flash storage on 2012 with the one on 2013. Since they use different port. The 2012 MBA still use sata 2(CMIIW), and MBA 2013 use Pci-e port.

No can do, apple updated the interface for its proprietary SSD storage, they're not compatible with each other.
